DIVISION OFFERS ADULT PHEASANTS FOR SALE

July 19, 1999

For more information contact:
James Ackerman at 908-852-3461

The New Jersey Division of Fish, Game and Wildlife will offer a limited number of adult ringneck pheasants for public sale at the Rockport Pheasant Farm in Warren County. The birds are being sold in an effort to make the Division's Pheasant Program operate self-sufficiently, as costs currently exceed revenue generated through the sale of pheasant stamps.

Male and female birds will be available from November 1, 1999 - January 8, 2000. Prices for cocks and hens picked up between November 1 and 30 are $8.50 and $7.50, respectively. Costs between December 1 and January 8 are $8.75 and $8.

The minimum order is 50 birds. Order forms are available at Division offices or by calling 908-852-3461 and must be submitted by October 15. Payment is required upon receipt of birds and must be in the form of a check or money order. Pheasant farm pick-up hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
