Interpretive
Center At Cheesequake State Park
Welcome...
The Interpretive Center provides the public with an educational journey through the ecosystems at Cheesequake State Park. Live displays of animals residing in the park make the Center a wonderful place to visit and learn. Exhibits depicting local history are also included. As you enter the building take notice of the large murals depicting three ecosystems at the Park. The plants and animals located on each mural are found specifically in the illustrated environment.
A small auditorium provides the setting for many of the environmental programs. This room is AV equipped and PowerPoint ready for computer projection. The building is handicapped accessible via the rear parking lot and contains restrooms. A small covered front deck makes a wonderful spot to birdwatch, as many species visit the Center each day. Free literature regarding environmental and NJ Division of Parks and Forestry events are always available at the Center.
The Interpretive Center provides free weekly interpretive programming focusing on a variety of seasonal topics. Consult the Calendar of Events online or call the Center for details at (732) 566-3208. Stop by and say hello.
The Interpretive Center is located a short distance from the trailhead parking area on the Red/ Green/ Blue trail.
The center is open from Wednesday through Sunday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and seven days a week from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
