New Law Promotes Brownfield Redevelopment (2 Feb 2005)
In an effort to promote economic growth and the cleanup of contaminated sites in New Jersey, Acting Governor Richard J. Codey signed legislation that provides qualified developers liability protection against natural resource damage claims at brownfield sites across the state.

The legislation also provides brownfield developers liability protection for off-site contamination and makes changes to the statute of limitations under which DEP can assess NRD claims. (DEP News Release 2 Feb 2005)

Palmyra Receives Grant to Fund Remedial Work at Brownfield Development Area;
Funding Available for Municipal and Private Grants and Loans

New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Commissioner Bradley M. Campbell today presented a $684,767 grant to the Borough of Palmyra to spur brownfield redevelopment at 40 land parcels along Route 73. Commissioner Campbell designated the properties as part of a Brownfield Development Area in September to assist the borough in its plans to reuse the contaminated land. (DEP News Release 14 May 2004)
