Local Public Health – Licensing and Compliance Actions

The New Jersey Department of Health Office of Local Public Health (OLPH) provides communication and coordination to local health departments, and facilitates the provision of resources and technical assistance to local public health partners. In addition, the OLPH licenses public health professionals, including health officers and registered environmental health specialists, and enforces regulations specific to local health departments, such as N.J.A.C. 8:52 Practice Standards of Performance for Local Boards of Health. As required by New Jersey Executive Order 227, determinations specific to OLPH licensing and compliance actions, such as notice of proposed health officer license suspension and/or revocation and local health department performance evaluation site visits, are posted on this page.
