Media Advisory-Deputy Health Commissioner To Announce Grants to Reduce Obesity in Minority Communities

On Friday, April 12 New Jersey Department of Health Deputy Commissioner Dr. Arturo Brito will visit All Saints Community Service and Development Corp. in Hoboken to announce $112,000 in Faithful Families Eating Smart and Moving More grants to reduce obesity and improve health in minority communities. 

As part of the event, Dr. Brito and Carolyn Daniels, director of the Department's Office of Minority and Multicultural Health will tour the site and speak with children and families served by the organization.  There will also be a cooking demonstration to show families how to make a quick and healthy snack. 

The Faithful Families Eating Smart and Moving More program is focused on providing families in faith communities with the skills needed to eat healthier foods and be physically active.
