Congratulations to all those who recently retired. We thank you and your families for your honorable service.
Please refer to the section below as we have some exciting events on the horizon.
You can call me for an appointment which is usually on a Wednesday or Thursday at the Bordentown Armory. I can also see Retirees on Monday or Tuesday at JFHQs on Fort Dix.

Military Appreciation Day at Casino Pier Military Appreciation Day at Casino Pier is 21 June 2025. The waterpark is located at 800 Ocean Terrace, Seaside Heights, NJ.
Pick up bracelets at the waterpark from 10 am - 2 pm. Military ID card is required for waterpark and rides. |

Pay Issues
Reminder - if you file your retirement paperwork with me, I can assist you with HRC until it is sent to DFAS. DFAS will ONLY talk to the SOLDIER. They will not speak to me about any Soldier’s pay.
One question they will ask you is what is your retirement date? The answer is, your 60th Birthday - not when you got out of the Guard or Reserves. Their number is 800-321-1080. |

VALife Insurance
Veterans Affairs Life Insurance (VALife) provides guaranteed acceptance whole life coverage of up to $40,000 to Veterans with service-connected disabilities. Lesser amounts are available in increments of $10,000. Under this plan, the elected coverage takes effect two years after enrollment as long as premiums are paid during the two-year period.
All Veterans age 80 or under with a VA disability rating of 0 to 100% are eligible for the VALife program and have no time limit to apply.

$250 Property Tax Reduction |
Active Duty Service with Honorable Discharge Effective December 4, 2020, New Jersey State law (P.L. 2019, c. 413) eliminated the wartime service requirement for the $250 Veterans Property Tax Deduction. Veterans must have active duty service with an honorable discharge. Reservists and National Guard personnel must be called to active duty service to qualify. Active duty for training continues to be ineligible.
You also may qualify if you are a surviving spouse / civil union / domestic partner of an honorably discharged veteran with active duty military service. Learn More |

Accessing Your Army iPERMS
| Active, Guard, Reserve, IRR, IMA Soldiers and Veterans
Do you need to view your iPERMS documents but do not have access to a CAC enabled computer? No problem! You can use your DS Logon to access your documents from the HRC Portal. The HRC Portal link is iperms.hrc.army.mil/login.

Social Security AccountA Social Security account provides personalized tools for everyone, whether receiving benefits or not. Those not currently receiving benefits can:
Estimate future benefits and compare different dates or ages to begin receiving benefits. Get instant status of the Social Security application.
Review work history. Request a replacement Social Security card (in most states).

FY 2025 Pay Schedule
| Retired and Annuitant PayTo help you plan for 2025, DFAS publishes a list of the days you should expect to receive your pay. Retired and annuitant pay is due on the first of the month. However, if the first falls on a weekend or holiday, retirees are paid on the last business day of the month and annuitants are paid on the first business day of month.

Update Address with DFAS
| How to ReportThere are several ways to update your address if you are receiving Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) payments for yourself or for a child.
The easiest and most convenient way to update your address is by logging into myPay and updating it there: mypay.dfas.mil.
If you don’t have a myPay account, you can upload a letter as a PDF using the askDFAS online upload tool: dfas.mil/raquicktools.
Be sure to include your full name, your Social Security Number and the member’s Social Security Number, and sign and date any written correspondence.

Military OneSource serves as a 24/7 gateway to trusted information, resources and confidential help.
Military OneSource is free for veterans until 365 days past end of tour of service, retirement date or discharge date. This includes service members on the Temporary Disability Retirement List, as well as their immediate family including spouses, children and anyone who has legal responsibility for a service member’s children, for the benefit of the children. |
