State Police Announces 2022 Trooper of the Year Award Recipients

West Trenton, N.J. - Today, Colonel Patrick J. Callahan announced that Detective II Patrick Septer #7543 and Detective Anthony Pompei #7917, of the Crime Suppression Central Unit, Intelligence and Criminal Enterprise Section, Investigations Branch, are the recipients of the 2022 Trooper of the Year Award for spearheading 107 criminal investigations, which resulted in the arrest of 232 suspects including 140 violent offenders with firearms during a one-year period. State Police Charge Eight, Seize Guns and More than $117,000 Worth of Drugs

Bridgeton, N.J. - The New Jersey State Police have charged eight suspects for various weapons and drug offenses during a month-long investigation that led to the seizure of $117,620 worth of drugs and multiple weapons including a "ghost gun" in Cumberland County. A ghost gun is a firearm that is assembled from various parts that are not imprinted with a serial number and registered with a federally licensed manufacturer, making them difficult for law enforcement to trace. West New York, N.J.- The New Jersey State Police have arrested Richard Stroman Jr., 38, of North Arlington, N.J., Jose Acosta, 37, of Hoboken, N.J., and Miguel Carrasco-Lara, 35, of Lyndhurst, N.J. for various drug offenses. Mantua, N.J.- The New Jersey State Police have arrested Carlos Castillo, 26, of Mantua Township, N.J., for various weapons offenses during an investigation that led to the seizure of a ghost gun, more than a dozen partially assembled ghost guns, and firearm manufacturing tools. A ghost gun is a firearm that is assembled from various parts that are not imprinted with a serial number and registered with a federally licensed manufacturer, making them difficult for law enforcement to trace. State Police Arrest Three Suspects for Allegedly Operating Child Trafficking Network in South Jersey

Trenton - Acting Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck and New Jersey State Police Superintendent Colonel Patrick J. Callahan today announced the arrests of Marquise Ogawa, 28, Chyaire Lee, 26, and Jazmin Scott, 21, all of Lawnside, N.J., for allegedly trafficking a missing child for prostitution. During the three-month investigation, detectives discovered that the suspects were allegedly operating a human trafficking network out of Camden County, N.J., in which they trafficked the juvenile victim.
