Great Falls Cleanup 2019

The PVSC River Restoration Program conducted a cleanup of the shoreline surrounding the Great Falls in Paterson in April. The cleanup was conducted in conjunction with the National Park Service. Also attending on behalf of PVSC was Olivia Le Warn, our Watershed Ambassador. Olivia is part of the New Jersey Watershed Ambassadors Program, a community-oriented AmeriCorps program designed to raise awareness about water issues in New Jersey.

The New Jersey Water Environment Association (NJWEA) also participated. PVSC Lab Director Jennifer Marques, PVSC Operations Superintendent II Lisa Oberreiter, retired Lab Technician I Pete Baldo, and Lab Technician I Fernanda Lois are members. Together with more than 20 other NJWEA members, they volunteered in the cleanup. NJWEA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving water quality and protecting the public health through education and training.
