Vital Records

The Office of Vital Statistics and Registry registers vital events and maintains the following vital records:

  • Birth records from 1923 to present
  • Marriage records from 1941 to present
  • Death records from 1941 to present
  • Domestic partnership records from 2004
  • Civil union records from 2007
  • Certificate of birth resulting in stillbirth from 1969
  • Adoption records - foreign and domestic

Women, Infants & Children (WIC)

WIC is a public health nutrition program that provides wholesome food, nutrition education and community support for eligible women who are pregnant and post-partum with infants and children up to five years old.

NJ College Winners Announced for Digital Campus Vaccine Contest

The Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey, in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH), announced winners of Step Up Vax Up, a statewide college vaccine contest. The digital contest challenged New Jersey college and university students to think creatively to promote vaccine awareness and overall campus health and wellness.

Murphy Administration Takes Action to Allow Pharmacists to Provide Hormonal Contraceptives to Patients Without a Prescription

Advancing New Jersey’s commitment to protecting reproductive rights and expanding access to reproductive health care, Governor Murphy today announced several actions by the State which together have the effect of authorizing qualified pharmacists to furnish self-administered hormonal contraceptives to patients without a prescription.

New Jersey Health and Agriculture Authorities Caution Residents of Risks for Humans and Pets Related to Raw Milk Consumption Amidst Outbreaks of Bird Flu in the U.S.

The New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) and Department of Agriculture (NJDA) are reminding residents of the risks associated with consuming raw milk amidst the current H5N1 Avian Influenza (Bird flu) outbreak, especially considering virus detections in dairy cows in some states. There have been no reports of H5N1 bird flu among residents and no detections in dairy cows in New Jersey.
