Trenton, N.J.—The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) announced Taryn Boland as its new Deputy Chief of Staff. Ms. Boland brings over 20 years of experience in public service and the non-profit sector to the agency. In her new role, Ms. Boland will report to Chief of Staff Christine Sadovy and work closely with Board President Joseph L. Fiordaliso to carry out NJBPU’s policy initiatives. She will also liaise with advocacy and interest groups to meet the needs of New Jersey’s public utility customers.

Fiordaliso. “The scope of our work touches the lives of every New Jerseyan, and it takes the hard work of dedicated individuals to ensure we live up to that responsibility. Ms. Boland will be an asset to our team as we continue working toward Governor Murphy’s goal of 100 percent clean energy by 2050 and a stronger and fairer New Jersey for all.”

 

In her new role, Ms. Boland will be responsible for briefing the Board President on current issues related to the state’s public utilities as well as advising on any public policy impacts or considerations. She will also work alongside the Chief of Staff to oversee the agency’s administrative, communications, and legislative divisions.

 

Prior to joining NJBPU, Ms. Boland served as a Communications Manager for the national non-profit Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH), where she delivered strategic marketing and communications in support of their mission to ensure affordable housing and services for those in need. Prior to CSH, she was a Program Development Assistant for the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, where she supported the First-Time Home Buyer and Multifamily Development financing programs.

 

Ms. Boland holds a master’s degree in Public Affairs and Politics from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers the State University of New Jersey, and a bachelor’s degree in Government and Law from Lafayette College. She also serves as a Jersey City Democratic Committeeperson, and was previously a Field Representative for Congressman Bill Pascrell (NJ-08).
