NJBPU President Joseph L. Fiordaliso joined Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh for their Earth Day celebration by announcing the award of more than $200,000 in grants to Paterson toward the cost of electric vehicles for the municipality. Paterson was one of 15 government entities and one university receiving grants towards the cost of electric vehicles.

NJBPU President Joseph L. Fiordaliso recently announced his appointment of Henry J. Gajda as Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) effective, March 28, 2022. Mr. Gajda fills the role of DCOS, which has been vacant since the appointment of Taryn Boland as Chief of Staff in November.

NJBPU has approved a petition filed by Atlantic City Electric Company (ACE) that modifies Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Power Sales Agreements (PSAs) between ACE and Chambers Cogeneration Limited and Logan Generating Company, the last two coal-fired electricity generation units in New Jersey.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and New Jersey Board of Public Utilities today announced the award of funding for studies, and will release shortly a request for proposals, to provide enhanced scientific information on the impacts of offshore wind energy development off New Jersey’s coastline as well as the state’s entry into a regional offshore-wind science collaborative.

NJBPU and PJM Interconnection announced today they filed for approval of an Agreement to implement New Jersey’s groundbreaking offshore wind transmission grid solicitation from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. The Agreement, known as the State Agreement Approach, provides a pathway for New Jersey to advance the first-of-its-kind offshore wind transmission solution as New Jersey implements its initiative to reach Governor Murphy’s goal of 7,500 MW of offshore wind energy by 2035.
