Child Evaluation Centers (CECs) serve as state of the art centers for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children with or at risk for developmental and behavioral disorders. Their staff have the expertise necessary to provide comprehensive developmental, medical, health focused evaluations for children from birth through adolescence.
Each CEC consists of a Core Team and Professionals available either in house or via consultant agreement. The Core Team Consists of 4 of the following disciplines:
- Psychology
- Social Work
- Nursing
- Physical/Occupational Therapy
- Speech/Language Pathology
Team Members available either in house or via consultant agreement include: Audiology, Pediatric Neurology, Child/Adolescent Psychiatry, Genetic Counseling, Otolaryngology, Nutrition, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Pediatric Orthopedics, and Learning Disabilities Specialists.
Four of the Centers provide diagnostic services for children with or suspected of having Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) or Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Each FASD Center consists of a Core Team including (but not limited to) the following disciplines:
- Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics
- Psychiatry/Psychology
- Social Work
- Genetics
- Learning Disability Specialists
