NJ FamilyCare is New Jersey’s publicly funded health insurance program, which combines Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Medicaid expansion populations. NJ FamilyCare programs offer low-to-moderate income adults and children vital health care services.

Who We Serve

We are dedicated to serving approximately 2 million, or nearly 20%, of New Jersey residents. Our goal is to provide high quality health coverage to people who qualify for the program, including:

  • Adults
  • Blind and disabled individuals
  • Children
  • Older adults
  • Parents and caretaker relatives
  • Pregnant People
  • Those in need of long-term care services

There is no open enrollment period for NJ FamilyCare. New Jersey residents are free to apply year-round for NJ FamilyCare eligibility consideration.

Managed Care for Your Well-Being

Most NJ FamilyCare beneficiaries enroll in managed care. This means that a dedicated health plan, also known as a Managed Care Organization (MCO), is responsible for helping you get the care you need.
