Trainings
Rowan Courses for Healthcare Professionals

NJ CARES, in partnership with Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine, is now offering six one-hour courses for healthcare professionals providing a standardized, evidence-based opioid addiction prevention curriculum to train New Jersey health care professionals on best practices in opioid prescribing and patient care. The following modules are available as enduring recorded courses, for only $7 each, specifically developed to satisfy the requirement for certain healthcare professionals to obtain one credit of continuing education on opioid prescription drugs:

Module 1: Best Practices in Opioid Treatment and Management
Module 2: The Role of Pharmacists in Addressing New Jersey's Opioid Crisis
Module 3: Opioid Addiction Prevention Training for New Jersey Mental Health Professionals
Module 4: Opioid Addiction Prevention Training for New Jersey Nurses and Athletic Trainers
Module 5: Screening Methodology and Minimizing the Risk of Overdose
Module 6: Comprehensive Review of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for Opioid Use Disorder in the Era of COVID-19

Rutgers Interdisciplinary Opioid Trainers (RIOT)

Rutgers University has created the Rutgers Interdisciplinary Opioid Trainers (RIOT) program, whereby graduate students at Rutgers University are providing a free 1-hour training to community members to educate them about the opioid epidemic in NJ, how to manage an overdose, and Medication Assisted Treatment.
