Classified employees in permanent career service titles working in State, county and municipal Merit System (civil service) jurisdictions are eligible to use this transfer program. Employees in public safety careers are only eligible if they hold an entry-level title. Employees who transfer must be placed in the same title, or in a job with substantially similar duties and requirements. When job titles are different, the Civil Service Commission compares both positions to make the final determination. In certain cases, qualifying examinations may be required.
