(TRENTON) – There will be activities for everyone, from those involved in the equine industry to those who simply admire horses, at the 19th annual Festival of Horses being held 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, August 12th at the Horse Park of New Jersey in Allentown.

Many events are planned to highlight the state’s equine industry, including: Standardbred and Thoroughbred yearling shows and mare and foal shows, a petting farm, face painting and interactive educational displays.

New this year in conjunction with the festival will be a hunter/jumper show, Woodedge at the Park, featuring the $5,000 Marshall/Sterling Child’s and Adult Classic.

“The equine industry is a very important sector of agriculture in our state, whether for preserving open space or for its $1.1 billion impact on the economy,” said New Jersey Agriculture Secretary Charles M. Kuperus. “This Festival showcases the vibrant horse industry and its many benefits, from economic to entertainment to education.  And, the Horse Park is a beautiful venue for the festival.”
