NJ Disaster Mental Health Hotline Logo

NJ Disaster Mental Health Helpline can be reached at (877) 294-HELP (4357) for assistance and is activated during disasters. This helpline provides public access to targeted mental health services in case of a natural or artificial disaster or terrorist attack. The helpline is equipped to quickly develop resources to better assist New Jersey’s affected populations.


New Jersey Hope and Healing Crisis Counseling Program

Please call 866-202- HELP (4357) to talk with trained staff, 8 am to 8 pm, 7 days a week. The Crisis Counseling Program, New Jersey Hope and Healing model, provides psycho-education, individual and group crisis counseling and assessment, referral and resources linkage. Disaster Mental Health Online Directory

For a directory of additional mental health recovery resources available, visit the Department of Human Services | Disaster and Terrorism Branch. The New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) within the New Jersey Department of Human Services (DHS) has over 120 contracted community mental health provider agencies. Services available include:

  • Individual crisis counseling
  • Psychological first aid
  • Disaster-specific psycho-educational information
  • Group crisis counseling
  • Consultation and training
  • Information and referral services
  • Toll-free warm line services
