Office of Field Services Coordination

The Office of Field Services Coordination (office) is responsible for facilitating the work of the 21 county offices of education.  The office supports the counties in their efforts in providing professional development opportunities for all LEAs; facilitating the resolution of disputes between parents and LEAs; responding to community, legislative and parental concerns; providing guidance to LEAs on a variety of topics and assisting LEAs in responding to questions; offering feedback on proposed administrator contracts and budgets and approving same; and, issuing county substitute certificates and emergency certificates. In addition to supporting the 21 county offices of education, this office oversees the state’s monitoring tool called the New Jersey Quality Single Accountability System (NJQSAC); the issuance of the List of Religious Holidays Permitting Student Absence, regulatory requirements for school district operations, comprehensive equity plans and lead testing in schools.
