- Federal Resource: Guide for Developing Emergency Operations Plan
On June 18, 2013, the White House released a guide for developing high-quality emergency operations plans for K-12 schools. This guide aligns with the New Jersey Department of Education's Minimum Requirements for Safety and Security Plans. The guide builds upon years of emergency planning work by the federal government and is the first joint product of DHS, DOJ, ED and HHS on this critical topic. The guide is customized and incorporates lessons learned from recent incidents and responds to the needs and concerns voiced by stakeholders following recent shootings and natural disasters.
