If you have or are currently experiencing domestic or sexual abuse, please know there is help and that you are not alone. The New Jersey State Police does not offer legal services, however legal assistance is available from organizations and agencies throughout New Jersey.

Legal assistance may include:

  • Discussing your legal options related to the Criminal Justice or Family Court Systems
  • Assistance obtaining an Order of Protection or emergency custody through Family Court
  • Support and advocacy with Child Protective Services or the Family Assessment Response Team at Department of Social Services
  • Discuss your options related to and provide support during campus-based disciplinary systems including Judicial Affairs Proceedings
