Speed Limits For State Roads

Route NJ 53
(a) The rate of speed designated for the certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 53 described in this subsection are hereby established and adopted as the maximum legal rate of speed:
1. In Morris County:
i. In the Borough of Morris Plains:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 45 MPH between Route US 202 and Drake Way (approximate mileposts 0.00 to 1.09); thence
(B) Zone 2: 40 MPH between Drake Way and the Morris Plains Borough - Parsippany-Troy Hills Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 1.09 to 1.55); thence
ii. In the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between the Parsippany-Troy Hills Township - Morris Plains Borough corporate line and the Denville Township - Parsippany-Troy Hills Township corporate line (approximate mileposts 1.55 to 3.36); thence
iii. In the Township of Denville:
(1) For both directions of traffic:
(A) Zone 1: 40 MPH between the Denville Township - Parsippany-Troy Hills Township corporate line and the Prospect Place (approximate mileposts 3.36 to 4.31); thence
(B) Zone 2: 30 MPH between Prospect Place and Route US 46 (end of route) (approximate mileposts 4.31 to 4.65).
