Please forward your check or money order for $25.00, payable to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. On December 4, 2008 former Governor Jon S. Corzine signed legislation (P.L. 2008, c. 110) that requires municipalities and counties to establish certain traffic controls, excluding weight limits, without NJDOT review or involvement. With passage of this law we are no longer the Approval authority or record keepers for local and county traffic control devices. Open Public Records Act (OPRA) OPRA is a new state law that was enacted to give the public greater access to government records maintained by public agencies in New Jersey.
