The 2001-02 design is second in the Habitat 2000 Landmark Series; the first collectible series of state duck stamp prints depicting waterfowl and public landmarks in the Garden State. The selected sites are representative of public open lands where visitors can observe the species depicted in the print. The series continues with New Jersey's 18th waterfowl stamp and print set created by Bob Hautman and features tundra swans near the Division's historic Sedge House in Barnegat Bay.

New Jersey duck stamps are required for hunting waterfowl in the state, but the beautiful designs are sought after by stamp and print collectors nationwide. Since 1984, proceeds from the sale of New Jersey waterfowl stamps and artist-signed limited edition prints have raised more than $3.8 million for the acquisition, protection and improvement of waterfowl habitat and associated wetlands. To date, more than 12,000 acres have been purchased and/or donated to the program.
