To honor the life work of Sister Rose in the area of education, specifically related to anti-Semitism, the Holocaust/genocide and prejudice reduction and in developing relationships between the Jewish and non-Jewish communities to better enhance and strengthen relationships with each other.

The Zaifman family has initiated this award to honor their father Jack, who was a Holocaust survivor and had for many years spoken to hundreds of students and community groups to tell of his experiences during WWII before passing away in 2016.  The award goes to an educator who has demonstrated outstanding efforts in teaching the Holocaust and genocide in their classroom, as well as issues of bias, prejudice, bigotry and bullying.

Open to individuals from Burlington, Somerset and Mercer Counties.

The Feldman family has initiated this award to honor their mother, Margit, who is a Holocaust survivor.  The award goes to an educator who has demonstrated outstanding efforts in teaching the Holocaust and genocide in their classroom, as well as issues of bias, prejudice, bigotry and bullying.

Open to individuals from Somerset, Morris, Hunterdon, Union, Sussex and Warren Counties.

• Award Information

Established by her family and the New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education in her honor. Gina is a survivor of the Holocaust who has discussed her experiences with children and adults for over 20 years and always emphasizes the importance of being an "upstander" and how one person can make a difference.

Open to individuals in Essex, Morris, Union, Sussex, Somerset and Passaic Counties.

For recognizing injustice and acting in a way that takes a positive stand against prejudice.

Sponsored by Kidsbridge Museum in partnership with the Axelrod Foundation and the New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education and given to a student that has demonstrated an altruistic act of generating awareness, empathy and action for holocaust and/or genocide education.
