Mendham Borough, located in Morris County is characterized by its historic downtown and residential development. The North Branch of the Raritan River and its tributaries form in the north of the Borough while McVickers Brook and tributaries form in the south. The majority of the Borough’s preserved lands are in the southeast with additional preserved lands along the North Branch of the Raritan. 

RMP Consistency Review (Petition for Plan Conformance)

Mendham Borough is currently petitioning the Highlands Council for a review of its master plan and development regulations for alignment with the Highlands Regional Master Plan (RMP) in the Planning Area portion of the borough. The staff Consistency Review and Recommendations Report below provides an overview and analysis of this review. A public comment period for review of the Report was held between December 1, 2025 and January 2, 2026. The borough's petition was approved by the Highlands Council at its January 2026 public meeting
