Notice of Regulatory Proposal

Please be advised that the PFRSNJ is proposing to amend, readopt, and supplement the current rules that govern disability retirement application and processing. Under the proposal, the PFRSNJ staff updates timeline, eligible documents and assumes processing responsibilities from the Division of Pensions and Benefits. Further, additional updates are purposed in order to begin shifting retirement administration authorities away from the Division of Pensions and Benefits. A detailed summary of the regulatory proposal , as well as the full text of the proposal as published on February 17, 2026 in the New Jersey Register.

Interested parties and the public are invited to submit comments regarding the regulatory proposal to the following:
