Myles Elgart

Myles Elgart

Myles Elgart possesses experience in Real Estate Development, Land Use Planning, and Renewable Energy Development, gained through collaboration with diverse stakeholders in the public and private sector. Myles has particular expertise in developing market studies and affordable housing projects, specifically those utilizing the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program. He joined the Office of Planning Advocacy in January 2024 as an Assistant Planner.

In this role, Myles facilitates alignment between municipalities and the goals and policies outlined in the State Plan. He possesses expertise in a process known as Plan Endorsement, where he provides technical assistance to municipalities and fosters connections with state agency partners. Additionally, Myles serves as an OPA representative on the Transit Village Task Force.

Prior to joining the Office of Planning Advocacy, Myles held the position of Assistant Project Manager at Community Investment Strategies. In this role, he managed and oversaw the development of affordable housing projects.

As a student, Myles gained valuable experience as an intern at Novogradac & Company LLP, where he developed affordable housing market studies for various locations throughout the country.

Myles graduated from Rutgers University in 2023 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Urban Planning and Design and Psychology.  Subsequently, Myles graduated from Rutgers University in 2024 with a Masters in City and Regional Planning, concentrating in Housing and Community Development.
