About TTFA

The New Jersey Transportation Trust Fund Authority, created by Legislation, is an independent agency of state government whose sole purpose is to finance the annual capital program of the New Jersey Department of Transportation and NJ TRANSIT.

The Authority consists of the Commissioner of Transportation and the State Treasurer as ex-officio members and five public members appointed by the Governor.

The Authority does not have any employees. However, staff employed by the Department of Transportation, Department of the Treasury, and Department and Law and Public Safety provide technical assistance to the Authority on an as-needed basis. Authority meetings are scheduled as they are needed and are open to the public.

In order to sell bonds, the Authority relies primarily on external services from business partners such as financial advisors, underwriters, trustees, and bond counsel.
