Long Pond Ironworks was founded in 1766 and operated continually until 1882, making iron for a wide range of purposes. Today, the ruins of three furnaces and other village structures remain in a beautiful setting within Long Pond Ironworks State Park near the New York border in West Milford, NJ. Roam among the ruins of three furnaces and other unique buildings at this ironworks plantation and discover its role in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, and the American Civil War.

The renovated Old Country Store is the site’s visitor center and contains interpretive displays, artifacts and relics from the furnace area and ironworkers village, along with hiking maps and self-guided brochures of the site.
