Leonardo State Marina Overview

Located on the south east portion of Sandy Hook Bay, Leonardo State Marina offers pleasure boaters and fisherpersons easy access to some of the best fishing in the areas of the New York/New Jersey Harbor, the Raritan Bay, the Sandy Hook Bay, the Atlantic Ocean and the Jersey Coastline. The Marina offers the year round rental of 175 slips with a maximum boat length of 50 feet, transient slips are also available by contacting the main office. The marina features several six pack charter fishing vessels as well as a party boat. Personal watercraft docks and trailer dry storage is also available. Waiting lists are required for all summer slips and dry storage spaces. A public boat launch (fees apply) is also available year round providing access to vistas of the Upper Sandy Hook Bay, Lower Manhattan and the Gateway National Recreation Area Sandy Hook Unit.

The marina is also home to a small nature center featuring live animals and hands on educational learning for families and school groups. Throughout the year various events are held including Flea Markets, A National Marina Day celebration featuring a Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs fishing tournament and our annual Halloween & Pet festival.

Restrooms and Shower facilities ADA Accessible

No Fueling of Vessels with Portable Gas Cans.

All ropes, dock boxes and furniture must be removed from the marina at the end of the contract period.

No Alcohol Permitted on State Property.

No Fishing, Crabbing or Netting Permitted in the Marina.

No Swimming in the Marina or from the bulkheads.

Fish Racks must be disposed of properly in dumpsters.

All pets must be leashed and cleaned up after.

Dinghies must be stored in rented slip.
