TRENTON - Governor Murphy has been briefed by senior officials on today’s thunderstorms affecting New Jersey and is closely monitoring the situation in consultation with his cabinet and senior staff.
The Governor is particularly concerned about effects of strong winds, flash flooding, localized hail, and isolated tornadoes - and is prepared to mobilize the resources of state government to assist residents, emergency personnel, and local officials to keep the public safe.
At this time, a flash flood watch remains in effect for counties including and south of Middlesex, Somerset, and Hunterdon. A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 11:00 p.m. statewide.
