TRENTON – First Lady Tammy Murphy today announced her plans to continue serving New Jersey’s COVID-19 volunteer effort. The First Lady will travel throughout New Jersey to provide support and highlight critical non-profits in communities across the state. New Jersey’s non-profits have continued to provide essential resources to the state’s most vulnerable populations during the unprecedented COVID-19 public health crisis. However, many of these organizations have been stretched to capacity and depend on community volunteers to enable them to fulfill their missions. The First Lady will join Table of Hope in Randolph tomorrow, June 23rd, and assist with mobile food distribution.
“The unparalleled COVID-19 public health crisis has revealed that New Jerseyans are not only resilient, but also overwhelmingly possess a remarkable sense of kindness and altruism,” said First Lady Tammy Murphy. “Throughout the state, our strong communities have come together to provide services to our most vulnerable populations and those who have been deeply impacted by COVID-19. By volunteering with several organizations, I have witnessed first-hand the importance of even the smallest gestures of service. I look forward to continuing this work and highlighting more incredible non-profit organizations in our state.”
The First Lady will continue her volunteerism throughout New Jersey over the next few weeks and visit the following organizations:
The New Jersey Governor’s Office of Volunteerism has issued guidelines to follow for those volunteering during the COVID-19 outbreak. The First Lady will adhere to all health and safety protocols in order to protect volunteers, residents, clients and service agencies.
