TRENTON – Governor Phil Murphy today announced his nominations of Zenon Christodoulou and Maria Rodriguez-Gregg as Commissioners on the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU). Their nominations will go to the Senate for confirmation.

“Zenon and Maria will provide valuable insights and skills to further our mission of transitioning to a 100 percent clean energy future while ensuring reliable and affordable utility services,” said Governor Murphy. “I am confident that their leadership and commitment to New Jersey will be valuable assets at BPU.”

“I am deeply honored that Governor Murphy has given me the opportunity to join the BPU and advance the critical benefits they provide to the residents of New Jersey and to the clean energy future of our great state,” said Zenon Christodoulou. “As a business owner and lifelong resident of New Jersey, I appreciate the impact that today's decisions will have on the businesses of tomorrow and on generations yet to come.  The professionals and visionaries at the BPU, who have helped shape New Jersey’s landscape, continue to be a model for the nation and I look forward to contributing to that great tradition.”

Dr. Zenon Christodoulou is a business owner and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Raritan Valley Community College. He previously served on the Boards of Directors of multiple organizations, such as the Governor’s School of New Jersey and the New Jersey Business and Industry Association. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with national honors from Fordham University and earned his Doctoral Degree in organizational behavior from Pace University. He lives in Somerset County with his wife and three children.

Maria Rodriguez-Gregg currently serves as Director of Government Relations and Community Affairs at Montclair State University. A former member of the General Assembly, Rodriguez-Gregg represented the 8th Legislative District from 2014 to 2018. She also served on the Board of Trustees at Burlington County College and on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity. Rodriguez-Gregg is a graduate of Rutgers University-Camden, where she received a degree in economics.
