Quispe to Succeed Outgoing Deputy Chief of Staff for Outreach Brianna Earle

TRENTON – Governor Phil Murphy today announced that Emy Quispe, who currently serves as the Director of Legislative Affairs, will be promoted to Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor for Labor Relations and Stakeholder Engagement, succeeding Brianna Earle, who will be departing the Administration on Friday, October 6, for a role in the private sector. In her duties as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor for Labor Relations and Stakeholder Engagement, Quispe will manage relationships between the Governor's Office and labor unions, advocacy groups, houses of worship, and community leaders across New Jersey. She will begin her new role on Tuesday, October 10.

“Since joining our second campaign and later our Administration, Emy has proven to be a true team player and has effectively maintained strong working relationships with legislators from both sides of the aisle,” said Governor Murphy. “With her help, we have been able to sign two on-time budgets and historic gun safety and reproductive rights legislation. I am happy to welcome her to our senior leadership team and look forward to seeing what she can accomplish in her new role.”

“Since the early days of our 2017 campaign and day one of our Administration, Brianna Earle has been instrumental in building key relationships with essential partners in communities across New Jersey,” continued Governor Murphy. “Starting as Director of Public Engagement and working her way up to our senior leadership team as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Outreach, Brianna is a talented leader representing the best of New Jersey. I wish her the best of luck in her next endeavor.”

“It has been an honor working with both Brianna and Emy over the past few years,” said Chief of Staff George Helmy. “They have thoughtfully built strong relationships with key partners across our state and successfully advanced the Governor’s agenda. I know they’ll continue building on this impressive track record of success.”

“I have had the pleasure of working with both Emy and Brianna in my time in the Murphy Administration and I cannot be happier for the both of them in their next chapters,” said incoming Chief of Staff Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti. “I look forward to working with Emy to advance the Governor’s priorities and wish Brianna all the best in her new role.”

Quispe, a proud Latina, joined the Murphy for Governor campaign as Deputy Director for Latino and Faith-Based Outreach in 2021 before becoming the Director of Legislative Affairs in the Governor’s Office in 2022. Prior to joining the Murphy Administration, she worked as New Jersey Political Coordinator for Service Employees International Union Local 32BJ. She has also served as Policy Advisor and Director of Community Relations to New Jersey Assembly Majority Conference Leader Annette Quijano.

Quispe has held significant roles in statewide and county-wide nonprofit organizations championing education and social equity and has served as a mentor to teens in her hometown. She holds dual degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice from Seton Hall University and Union College.
