NJDOT announces ramp closures along I-295
Major highway rehabilitation continues in
Camden and Gloucester counties
(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced a series of upcoming ramp closures to accommodate the ongoing Interstate 295 resurfacing project in Camden and Gloucester counties.
On Monday, May 23 NJDOT will close the Route 47 southbound ramp to I-295 northbound in Westville overnight for milling and paving operations. Route 47 southbound motorists destined for I-295 northbound will pass over I-295 and take Tacoma Boulevard to N. Evergreen Avenue to CR 551 to I-295 northbound.
On Tuesday, May 24, NJDOT will close the Route 47 northbound ramp to I-295 northbound in Westville overnight for milling and paving operations. Route 47 northbound motorists destined for I-295 northbound will pass over I-295 and take Olive Street to CR 551 to I-295 northbound.
On Wednesday, May 25, NJDOT is scheduled to close the I-295 southbound Exits 25A and 25B ramps to Route 47 in Westville overnight for milling and paving operations. I-295 motorists destined for Route 47 in either direction will continue to Exit 24B to CR 551 (Broadway) northbound to Olive Street to Route 47.
Then on or about May 31, NJDOT is scheduled to close the Route 42 southbound ramp to I-295 southbound in Bellmawr for approximately four nights to perform milling and paving operations. Route 42 southbound motorists will be directed to Exit 14 for Creek Road/Leaf Avenue to Route 42 northbound to I-295 northbound to Exit 28 (Route 168) interchange to I-295 southbound.
All work is weather dependent.
NJDOT is rehabilitating I-295 in Barrington, Bellmawr, Cherry Hill, Haddon Heights, Haddonfield, Lawnside and Tavistock in Camden County and West Deptford and Westville in Gloucester County. The project also includes replacing five I-295 bridge decks. Construction began in June 2009 and is scheduled for completion in summer 2012.
