The Office of Federal and Regional Policy (OFRP), established in June 2018, assists the Board’s Commissioners in voicing their policy positions at the federal and regional level. Staff of the OFRP advise the Commissioners on policy positions to advance in proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and Department of Energy (DOE). In coordination with the Division of Law, the OFRP manages the BPU’s filings in those federal proceedings. OFRP Staff actively monitor and participate in stakeholder proceedings at PJM Interconnection, LLC (PJM), the Regional Transmission Organization. OFRP Staff also coordinate with other State Commissions through the Organization of PJM States, Inc. (OSPI) and the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissions (NARUC) to develop policy positions. The OFRP works jointly with the Energy Division, the Economist Office, the Division of Clean Energy, and the State Energy Office.
