DCA, HMFA Provide Mortgage and Tax Credit Funding for Affordable Senior Housing Community in Medford Township
“This project is a wonderful addition to Medford Township as it will provide its senior residents with access to safe, decent, affordable housing,” said DCA Commissioner Lori Grifa. “My sincere congratulations go out to the development team who successfully transformed a vision into a premier community.”
The two-story Medford Senior Housing building includes 30 one-bedroom apartments and 6 two-bedroom apartments. Five of the units are ADA accessible. Each apartment is equipped with a full kitchen, living and dining area, full bath, Energy Star appliances and energy-efficient heating and cooling systems. Community amenities include a library, an all-purpose room, computer lab, wellness center, and laundry facilities.
“Medford Senior truly carries out the mission that is shared by all of the stakeholders gathered here today, which is to provide flexible, affordable housing opportunities for senior citizens on low, fixed incomes,” said HMFA Executive Director Anthony L. Marchetta. “This project is a wonderful example of the good that can come out of public-private partnerships.”
The project was developed by Moorestown Ecumenical Neighborhood Development, Inc, (MEND) and Conifer Realty, LLC. MEND is a non-profit organization based in Moorestown, NJ, that provides low and moderate-income rental and for sale housing for individuals, families, and seniors in the Burlington County area. Conifer is a real estate company specializing in the development and management of quality, affordable housing communities.
