Attendees Invited to Share "Blueprints for the Future" at September 20-21 Event
“The theme of this year’s conference, ‘Blueprints for the Future,’ is designed to inspire attendees to achieve success in today’s challenging housing market,” said Commissioner Grifa. “And, for the first time, we are focusing our efforts on economic development topics that are inextricably linked to housing, community development and neighborhood revitalization.”
Attendees will participate in a variety of workshops that encompass the latest trends in housing and economic development including: credit & finance, supportive housing, housing resources, property management, and future planning.
The conference will include a networking reception from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, in the Crown Ballroom of the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel. Also, attendees will have the opportunity to attend the Governor’s Excellence in Housing Awards during lunch on Wednesday, an annual event that recognizes the state’s most outstanding affordable housing projects, partnerships, and individuals.
The NJ Governor’s Conference for Housing and Economic Development is hosted by the DCA’s Division on Housing and Community Resources and the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, a DCA affiliate. And, for the first year, the conference is co-sponsored by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority and New Jersey Department of State. The conference is self-sustaining, funded entirely through sponsorship opportunities and registration fees.
Registration is now open for the 2011 Governor’s Conference for Housing and Economic Development. For more information or to register, log on to http://www.state.nj.us/dca/hmfa/home/conference/index.htm.
