TRENTON, NJ – Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Commissioner Richard E. Constable, III today announced that the 2012 NJ Governor’s Conference for Housing and Economic Development will be held on Tuesday, October 16 and Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at the Atlantic City Convention Center in Atlantic City.

“We are proud to present this year’s theme, ‘Leading the Way Back Home…the Key to Economic Growth,’” said Commissioner Constable. “This vital conference is a forum for networking with the state's most distinguished housing professionals, government officials, economic development professionals, business professionals, lenders, developers, non-profits and consultants.”

Conference attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of workshops related to both housing and economic development in New Jersey. Sessions will cover topics such as sustainable communities, neighborhood revitalization, property management, economic recovery, and supportive housing.

The conference will kick-off with a networking reception on Tuesday, October 16, from 4:30-6:30 in the Crown Ballroom of the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel. On Wednesday, October 17th the winners of the Governor’s Excellence in Housing Awards will be announced. Awards will be given for outstanding projects, partnerships, and individuals.

The NJ Governor’s Conference for Housing and Economic Development is hosted by the Department of Community Affairs, the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency and the New Jersey Economic Development Authority. The conference is self-sustaining, funded entirely through sponsorship opportunities and registration fees.
