NJ-PROMISE is an early identification and intervention program aimed at young people aged 10-25, who are experiencing worrisome changes in their thoughts, perceptions, behaviors, and functioning. These changes may look like suspiciousness, increased difficulty at work or school, withdrawal from loved ones, hearing things and seeing things that others don’t, and odd thinking or behavior.
The service focuses on reducing early symptoms of serious mental illness through specialized assessment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, case management, psychiatry, psychoeducation, and other supports as needed. It is open to all New Jersey residents regardless of economic means and accepts various private insurances, as well as Medicaid and Medicare.
