Did You Know? Of all the water on Earth, only about 3% is freshwater; of that, only about 0.5% is available for human use.
Hydrology is the study of water and how it moves through the various stages of the hydrologic - or water - cycle. From condensation to rain and snowmelt to evapotranspiration and evaporation and back again, water moves through the cycle and hydrologists look at precipitation, runoff, streamflow, groundwater infiltration and more.
The DRBC monitors the hydrologic conditions of the Delaware River Basin closely. Understanding real-time streamflow, groundwater conditions, tides and weather are all important parts of managing the Basin's water resources, including the salt front.

- Information from the NWS (NWPS flood forecasts, weather, precipitation, forecast offices in the DRB)
- Information from the USGS (real-time streamflow, water science centers and more)
Please Note: Emergency managers and all others involved with water management decisions should reference USGS and NWS web sites (linked above) as primary sources for real-time stream flow and forecasted river rise data.
