Find all of the information you need about voting in New Jersey at the Division of Elections NJ Voter Information Portal.

Voters can register to vote on online or by filling out a paper registration form. Or an application for registration can be obtained from the the Commissioners of Registration office in the county where you live, or from your Municipal Clerk. Registration forms are also available in various state agencies and can be obtained while transacting agency business.

If you are eligible to vote in New Jersey, you may register to vote at a motor vehicle agency while applying for/renewing a driver’s license or non-driver identification (ID) card. The MVC will report the information to the New Jersey Division of Elections. You can also print a registration form and after entering required data, mail it to the Commissioners of Registration office in the county where you reside. In addition, this form can be used for name and address changes. The Commissioners of Registration cannot accept faxed copies or an electronic transmission of a voter registration form since an original signature is required. The registrant must download the form and send the hard copy to the Commissioners of Registration. The registration deadline to vote at the next election is 21 days prior to Election Day.

Yes, there is an in-person (polling place/vote center) early voting period for the General Election that begins on October 23, 2021.

Each NJ county will hold nine (9) days of early, in-person machine voting ending on Sunday, October 31, 2021. Each county, depending on its size will designate a minimum of 3 to 10 voting locations for early in-person voting purposes. Early voting polling locations will be open from at least 10 am to 8 pm on Mondays through Saturdays, and from at least 10 am to 6 pm on Sundays.

Voters will also be able to return their vote-by-mail ballots early at a secure ballot drop box, via mail, or in person to their Board of Elections office. Dropbox locations can be found on the 2021 New Jersey Voter Information Portal.
