Bridge Usage

Route NJ 37
(a) The certain parts of State Highway Route NJ 37 described in this subsection shall not be used for the purposes described herein:
1. In Ocean County:
i. In the Township of Toms River (formerly Dover Twp.):
(1) No jumping, diving, crabbing, fishing or loitering shall be permitted along both sides:
(A) For the entire length of the Thomas A. Mathis Bridge over the Barnegat Bay (Route NJ 37 eastbound) (approximate milepost 11.92).
(B) For the entire length of the J. Stanley Tunney Bridge over the Barnegat Bay (Route NJ 37 westbound) (approximate milepost 11.92).
(2) Bicycles shall be prohibited from being driven and walked along both sides:
(A) For the entire length of the Thomas A. Mathis Bridge over the Barnegat Bay (Route NJ 37 eastbound) (approximate milepost 11.92).
(3) Pedestrians shall be prohibited from walking along both sides:
(A) For the entire length of the Thomas A. Mathis Bridge over the Barnegat Bay (Route NJ 37 eastbound) (approximate milepost 11.92).
(4) Bicycles shall be prohibited from being driven and must be walked along the northerly side:
(A) For the entire length of the J. Stanley Tunney Bridge over the Barnegat Bay (Route NJ 37 westbound) (approximate milepost 11.92).
