Distribution and Support Services


To purchase goods at significantly reduced prices from DSS, you must be one of the following organizations and located in the State of New Jersey:  
  • All Branches of New Jersey State Government
  • Commission or Authority
  • Municipal Agency
  • County Agency
  • College or Institution of Higher Education
  • Regional School Board
  • Volunteer Fire Department or First Aid Rescue Squad

Except For Surplus Property, Private Citizens Cannot Purchase Goods From Distribution And Support Services, In Accordance With NJSA 52:25-13

  • Because DSS purchases in large volume and can use the substantial expertise and significant bargaining power of New Jersey State Government, prices are typically 30% lower than other alternatives.
  • DSS offers a wide variety of products at discounted prices, including food items and household products. DSS carries dry, canned and frozen food products. Household products include items such as paper products, (toilet tissue, paper cups, paper towels) and janitorial supplies (cleanser, soap, trash can liners).
  • DSS handles all bidding and contract management requirements. Because we do it often, we do it well.
  • Distribution and Support Services provides delivery at no charge. A minimum order of $150 is required. Please contact our Customer Service Unit at (609) 530-3308 to set up an account or if you have any questions regarding our services

Quality Assurance & Control

  • The Quality Assurance & Control (QAC) Unit continually updates and improves existing product specifications to meet customers’ needs for quality goods that meet the highest standards.
  • The QAC Unit monitors product safety and certifies that products received at DSS are in compliance with contract specifications.
  • The QAC Unit supports Treasury’s mission by highlighting fiscal responsibility and sustainable savings.
  • The QAC Unit provides competition-based standardization of product requirements to maximize the potential bidding field for solicitations.

In addition to products carried by DSS, the QAC Unit researches and provides compliance criteria and evaluation for goods purchased by other government entities to certify compliance with contract specifications.

Surplus Property

  • The Surplus Property Unit manages the State's surplus personal property generating revenue for the State through public sales or auctions of surplus goods. DSS advertises public auctions and sealed bid information on-line through this web site. View surplus state property information.
