Question 1: Is NBIS bridge inspection experience for the Project Manager and
the Key Staff acceptable for the required experience in TP-169? Given
that the NBIS experience includes bridges with Pin/Hanger details and FCM
members.
Answer 1: NBIS experience is valid for all
required experience. NBIS experience is not
acceptable for the extra credit for Section 5.1. or Section 9.3. “Completion of
a Project Exclusively for FCM…”
Question 2: In the SOW services section of the EOI page 14 under Field Inspection there is a statement in bold stating that the inspection team shall also include an engineer certified by the American Welding Society with expertise in bridge weld inspection. Since there is no such requirement listed in the project qualification sheets used for scoring the proposed staff, we would assume that the testing company would be required to fulfill this requirement. Please confirm that this is a correct assumption.
Answer 2: The assumption is correct. There just needs to be a certified welding inspector on site. The Consultant can use their own staff if they have the certification or the sub used to perform the work must have it.
