TRENTON, N.J. – New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) Acting Commissioner Richard E. Constable, III today offered a reminder that there’s still time to register for the 2012 NJ Governor’s Conference for Women. The theme of the 2012 NJ Governor’s Conference for Women is “It’s All About You.”
On-site registration will be available at the May 7th networking reception and beginning at 7:15 a.m. on the day of the conference. This year’s conference will take place May 7-8 at the Atlantic City Convention Center.
“This conference has developed an outstanding reputation over the years and is the single-most important statewide event for women,” Acting Commissioner Constable said. “This year’s conference is sure to deliver the same high quality programming that people have come to expect from this event, all thanks to the hard work and commitment of our steering and event committees. It is an enriching, timely experience and money well-spent.”
Participants may choose from five subject tracks in scheduling their conference experience. Tracks include: Women in Business, Women, Power & Money, Politics, Personal Development and Health. New this year, attendees can choose from career development and business startup workshops within these tracks in addition to sessions on leadership, personal finance and healthy living. The session topics and speakers are all designed to provide conference participants with comprehensive practical information and leadership tools to help them succeed.
Reflecting a significant, new personalized focus to the conference, a “one-stop” career and business counseling center will be available all day to job seekers and entrepreneurs in attendance. “NJ Works” will be on hand to provide participants with information on career building and business building. In addition, staff from the Department of Labor and Workforce Development will be available all day to review and critique resumes, check for current job opportunities and provide feedback. For the entrepreneurs in attendance, representatives from the Business Action Center, the Economic Development Authority, the Small Business Development Centers, and the UCEDC will provide assistance with financing opportunities and business resources.
