Announcements and Updates

Use of Code 19

Districts will encounter validation errors when submitting Code 19 for the SpecialEducationClassification field in the Student Management submission. Please note that Code 19 is still the correct value to use when a student is in the process of an evaluation. NJSLEDS is addressing this error through planned updates to our business rules. Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, updated validations will be implemented so that Code 19 will no longer trigger an error when used appropriately.

Year-End Reminder: Change, Merge, and Delete Request Deadlines

As the school year ends, please be mindful of the upcoming deadlines for record maintenance requests:

  • Change and Merge Requests Deadline is June 15
  • Delete Requests Deadline is June 23

Requests submitted after these dates may not be processed before the close of the 2025-2026 school year. Districts are encouraged to review and submit all necessary updates in advance of the deadlines to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

Phone System Enhancements

NJSLEDS has implemented updates to our Help Desk phone system to better support district users. These enhancements will allow for improved analysis of call trends, reduced hold times during peak periods, and greater flexibility to increase agent coverage when needed. These changes are part of an ongoing effort to strengthen support and ensure districts receive timely assistance during key submission periods.

Help Desk Reminders

As a reminder, to contact the Help Desk, districts should either submit a ticket through our NJSLEDS system homepage, or contact us via phone at 609-376-3970.

Tip of the Month: Do We Need to Report Every Staff Vacancy for the 25-26 School Year?

For the End of Year Staff Vacancy submission, districts should reflect positions that meet the defined vacancy criteria for the collection. Districts should focus on roles that are actively vacant starting after the fall snapshot through June 30, 2026.
