NJSLEDS Monthly Update | October 2026
Published October 5, 2026
Welcome to the October NJSLEDS Newsletter. October 15 is the Fall Snapshot date for the 2026-2027 school year. The Student Management, Staff Management and Staff Vacancy Fall Snapshots close that day, along with the Special Education Practice Period. Review your submitted records and processing results before the deadline so you have time to correct and re-upload records that need attention.
After the Fall Snapshot, the Performance Report Official Submission opens October 16. The Special Education Official Fall Submission and the Student Management, Staff Management and Staff Vacancy End-of-Year Snapshot periods open October 19.

Announcements & Updates
Prepare for the October 15 Fall Snapshot
Review your Student Management and Staff Management records for the students and staff your organization is responsible for reporting. Make sure new records, current-year information and appropriate exit or inactive information have been submitted. In Staff Vacancy, review the positions your district is required to report and any existing records that need to be updated.
An uploaded file does not necessarily mean every record was accepted. Check Submission Records and processing results, address records in Error, Unresolved, Associated SID/SMID, New SID/SMID, Sync or Transfer statuses as applicable, and re-upload corrected data before the Fall Submission Periods close.
What Opens After the Snapshot
The Performance Report Official Submission opens October 16 and runs through November 20. Use the current Performance Report User Resources when preparing your file.
The Special Education Official Fall Submission opens October 19 and closes November 16. This submission must reflect applicable student status and reportable activity as of October 15. Official Special Education records are compared with the Fall Student Management Snapshot, so review information that must match across the two submissions. Use the current Special Education User Resources to prepare your official file. Please note that all Special Education Practice Period data will be cleared before the start of the official submission period.
Student Management, Staff Management and Staff Vacancy also reopen for their End-of-Year Submission Periods on October 19. Continue maintaining current-year information after the Fall Submission Periods close.
APSSD Reminder
Approved Private Schools for Students with Disabilities are responsible for the Fall Staff Management submission only. APSSDs do not submit any other submissions in NJSLEDS or the End-of-Year Staff Management submission.
Tip of the Month: Check the Records, Not Just the Upload
After submitting a file, review its processing results and the records available in NJSLEDS. A successful upload confirms that the file was received; it does not tell you that every record is ready for the Fall Snapshot. If you correct information in your local source system, export a new file, re-upload the affected records to NJSLEDS and check the new results in Submission Records. Give yourself time for that full cycle before October 15.
FAQ of the Month: Will My Special Education Practice Data Carry Into the Official Submission?
No. Data from the Special Education Practice Period is cleared when that period ends on October 15. Practice uploads help you identify and correct issues, but they do not count as an official submission. When the Official Fall Submission opens October 19, upload your Special Education file again and review its processing results. The official data must reflect October 15 and will be compared with the Fall Student Management Snapshot. See the Special Education FAQs for more information.
