NJDOT to repave Interstate 195 in Mercer County
Lane and ramp closures planned for high-priority resurfacing
(Trenton) - The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced the start of an immediate maintenance roadway resurfacing on Interstate 195 eastbound in the townships of Hamilton and Robbinsville, Mercer County.
Beginning this week, NJDOT will close a single lane of I-195 eastbound overnight from 9 p.m. to approximately 6 a.m. the following morning, Monday thru Friday, for approximately one month.
The work will address high priority, deteriorated sections of I-195 from milepost 0.5 to 0.9, milepost 1.7 to 2, and milepost 4.3 to 4.4, the South Broad Street ramp to I-195 eastbound, the I-195 eastbound acceleration/deceleration lanes to and from Exit 6 (NJ Turnpike) as well as the Exit 5 (Route 130) on/off ramps in both directions.
NJDOT scheduled the work overnight to minimize the impact to commuters. Resurfacing operations will begin at the western end (milepost 0.5) of the project and proceed east. All work is weather dependent.
NJDOT will utilize variable message signs to notify motorists of the traffic pattern changes. Real time travel and construction information is available online at www.511nj.org
