NJDOT to resurface roadways in Mercer County
(Trenton) -The New Jersey Department of Transportation today announced the start of a maintenance and resurfacing project that will improve a total of 13 miles of roadway along Routes 130, 175, 1 and 33.
“This maintenance project will improve safety along these roads and create smoother, more comfortable rides for motorists,” said NJDOT Commissioner Jim Simpson.
Beginning Monday, May 2, motorists may encounter daytime shoulder closures with temporary nighttime single lane closures on Route 130 from Hamilton to Robbinsville Mondays through Thursdays from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day, Fridays from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. the next day, on Saturdays from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. the following day and on Sundays from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day. No detours will be necessary.
The $8.2 million resurfacing project also includes Route 175 from the City of Trenton to Ewing, Route 1 from Trenton to Lawrence, and Route 33 from East Windsor to Hightstown.
The roadway maintenance project includes milling and paving the roadway, new drainage gratesand new curbing and sidewalks within the project areas.
Project completion for all the routes is scheduled for September 2011.
